Following a streak of bad results (7 points in 10 games) culminated with the defeat against Hellas Verona, Brescia's president Massimo Cellino has made the decision to sack coach Eugenio Corini. The club is now looking for a replacement and the president's favoured oprion seems to be former Cagliari defender and coach Diego Lopez, currently at Penarol. The Uruguayan club has opened to the possibility to let their coach go, despite the current position of the team, involved in the title race with rival Nacional.
The initial approaches of Cellino have brought positve developments in the talks between parties, which are still ongoing. Intermediaries are working to reach an agreement, especially following the sacking of Corini - a clear sign that the negotiations between Brescia and Diego Lopez are gaining momentum.
