The new Milan ownership wants to start fresh while still keeping what proved to work in the past, starting with Giacomo Bonaventura. There is a verbal agreement between the club, player and his agent Mino Raiola to allow the Italian midfielder an increase in salary based on his contributions for the club. For now, this deal can’t be publicly confirmed, as the SES Chinese group wants to modify the current agreement.
This does not represent an end to these negotiations, but a willingness of the Chinese ownership to give Bonaventura a contract renewal with a higher salary. The issue lies with due payments from the past, that for whatever reason the current ownership has not yet been able to give to the Italian midfielder. For now, Bonaventura is ready for his next game against former club Atalanta, leaving his contract renewal in stand by.
