Duvan Zapata has officially taken an important step in his career. HIs arrival to Atalanta could prove to be a decisive move for him, following strong showings the past three seasons for Udinese and Sampdoria. In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zapata shared the exciting moments that led to him becoming a nerazzurro: "My idea was that I'd stay at Sampdoria, but Sampdoria didn't do anything to try and keep me. Therefore, I quickly latched onto Atalanta. President Percassi and Gasperini made me feel very important. It's nice to be courted."
The Atalanta courtship on one side, and the lack of interest shown by Sampdoria, pushed Zapata to leave the blucerchiata club, for whom he scored 11 goals last season. "I want to score a lot and do my best this season. I'm happy to have already broken the ice with a friendly. For a forward, scoring a goal is a shock of enthusiasm." His debut with Atalanta was a bit of a surprise, in particular, because of a teammate. "I didn't think that Musa Barrow was so strong. We could play together and try to give each other enough space." With the number 91 still on his shoulders and a great desire to amaze, Duvan Zapata is ready for his newest adventure.
