Antonio Conte appeared highly irritated after his Chelsea defeated Southampton when a reporter attributed to him a quotation comparing his Juventus to Chelsea ("Winning the Premier League would have more value than winning three scudetti with Juventus"). Conte categorically denied this.
"It is all false; I am infuriated. No one asked me this question, and I never compared this eventual victory with my Juventus accomplishments," Conte told SkySport.it. "Since I left, there are people who enjoy trying to pit me against Juventus fans. I never made any comparisons. And I never will. Since I arrived at Chelsea, I have always wanted to avoid talking about my Juventus past because of the controversy it can create. Yet people still manage to put words in my mouth that I never stated."
