Watford player Adam Masina spoke with Gianluca Di Marzio at the club's facilities, the interview appeared on Sky Sport. Masina moved to England from Serie A team Bologna, the defender discussed his transition to the new league:
"I am here with a new experience in front of me, which has enriched me a lot from a professional point of view. I am here to get better and I am very happy with my decision. My teammates have been great as far as getting used to the environment, they helped me find a home. My English is getting better, but for now I prefer to give interviews in Italian. The Premier League is a very intense league, from the first minute to the 90th. I think the great squads that will compete for the title are Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City. With Watford, a semi-English semi-Italian team as we are, I hope we finish as high as possible."
Masina also discussed his goals as it relates to the Italian national team: "I have come here to earn that opportunity for myself, I hope one day I can reach that big goal. Let's hope Mancini keeps watching the Premier League: I am here."
Watford will face Southampton in their next league match, including fellow Italian Manolo Gabbiadini: "He is a player I look up to as a person and a professional. I'm happy to see him again, I hope it will be a great match and that we win.
Finally, he discussed his time at Bologna, when Masina became emotional: "I must thank the guys for finding Sky Italia for me, now I am able to follow Italian football. Bologna is the team that I watch at home on Sunday afternoons. There is no one else. I suffer along with them, but I believe that Inzaghi is the right man to give the group confidence needed to avoid relegation. Bologna has a big place in my heart, but it's now in my past. I felt it was my duty to say goodbye to the fans and explain my decision to leave, with my message on social media. Life goes on. I decided to depart as a young lad and I hope to return home as a man."
