Witsel:”I’ll stay at Zenit another year. Premier League & Serie A are elite”

Axel Witsel has been linked to numerous teams this summer, including Juventus who identified him as someone who could help replace Pogba. But the bianconeri only went so far in their pursuit of the Belgian midfielder since he has an expiring contract with Zenit. Witsel talked about his future in an interview to R Sport:"The best choice for me is to stay at Zenit another year, then we'll see about the future. At moment I'm 100% focused on my team and the next matches coming up for Zenit. Should I leave Russia one day, I have no preference between Premier League and Serie A, both leagues represent the elite of football. Extension? I'm not thinking about it now, I'm just focused on the season"
