Twenty-one years later, Gianluca Vialli remains the last Juventus players to raise a Champions League trophy. He now hopes that Buffon will be the next one to do so. In an interview with La Stampa, he compliments and explains this current Juventus side:

“Twenty years ago it was very difficult, if not impossible. But the same can be said today: Hats off to this current Juve. From the club to the players, and everyone in-between. Allegri? Arriving right after Conte was tough as he had everything to lose. He’s incredible at analyzing every situation, and was able to deal with his group of players in a fantastic manner: Winning for a long time and maintaining a higher level of hunger than your opponents is not easy. But at Juve players suffer more for a loss than they rejoice for a triumph”.
