Verona made an official anouncement on their website on the decision to sack coach Eusebio Di Francesco: "Hellas Verona FC announces it has relieved Eusebio Di Francesco from his job as coach of the First Team.
The gialloblù thank mister Di Francesco and his staff, Francesco Tomei, Stefano Romano, Giancarlo Marini and Franco Giammartino for their efforts to date.
After three defeats in three matches to start the season, Verona will make a change at coach. The decision was made after the loss to Bologna on Monday afternoon.
Verona will now evaluate the names to replace Di Francesco. On Tuesday afternoon the decision over the favorites should be made.
Among possible choices, there is the name of Igor Tudor, who Verona also looked at over the summer. On Tuesday, Igor Tudor resolved his contract with Juvenus, where he was an assistant last season under Andrea Pirlo. He is free to sign with Verona: the deal should be valid through June with extension tied to safety from relegation.
Hellas Verona lost their first three matches of the season against Sassuolo, Inter and Bologna, being outscored 7-3. The results let the club to sack Di Francesco and go in a new direction.
