Hellas Verona defeated Brescia 2-1 today, but the biggest talk around the match was regarding Brescia forward Mario Balotelli punting the ball into the stands and walking off the pitch in response to racist chants toward him during the match. Verona manager Ivan Juric shared his thoughts after the match with Sky Sport.
"There was nothing racist, only whistles and teasing. Let's not make something out of nothing. I am Croatian, I know what it means to receive racist chants, but this wasn't the case. If there were, I'd be the first to condemn them."
"Salcedo? In his two years with the Inter primavera, he played poorly and I told him so. Veloso and Lazovic? It's now that I chose to bring them here, it's just that there aren't many alternatives."
