On Friday, Italy will face Albania in a World Cup qualifier. The following Tuesday, the Italians will fly to Amsterdam for a friendly against the Netherlands. Here is what coach Giampiero Ventura had to say ahead of the next two games:
“I’m going to see the lads after a three month period, it’s normal to see some changes. The will to succeed however has not changed, and that’s all that matters. I’ll have to deal with the absence of the Juve players for the next games. Marchisio has basically never played, whereas Chiellini and Bonucci have a planned rest. D’Ambrosio? Even if he arrived in the National team at 27, it doesn’t matter. If anything it’s a message to all: If you play well, there are no limits for this team”.
“Albania? A crucial game for our qualifiers. I’m sure that if we manage to qualify to the World Cup we could be a potential surprise. With the youth at our disposal, we’ll soon have one of the best national teams out there. Is it harder for Juventus to beat Barcelona, or Italy to beat Spain? They’re both difficult but possible results”.
