Now several clubs in Italy are competing to sign Udinese's 1997-born goalkeeper Alex Meret, with Fiorentina, Roma, and Napoli all interested in having him join this summer. As a result, the price for Meret is being driven up, and Udinese has requested a price of €35m from Fiorentina, who had made the first offer to Udinese of €20m (€2m loan plus €18m forced option). Despite the fact that Meret had approved a move to Fiorentina, la viola do not seem disposed to paying the latest request for the player's fee. Roma want Meret as a replacement for Alisson, while Napoli are eying the 21-year-old as plan B after Areola. It's still up in the air if either club will pay Udinese's price.
