Former Shaktar Donetsk manager Mircea Lucescu, currently coach of Turkey national team, discussed with Corriere dello Sport some of the new Turkish players in the Serie A: "Cengiz Under in no surprise to me, he only needed time. He's 20 and now that he's starting to learn the language he can only get better. He has shown courage leaving home and choosing a league like Serie A where the tactical aspect of the game is very important. Many times I told him to hang in there and not to leave Roma on loan, because I was sure he would have become better under Di Francesco. I also said to Roma's coach to keep working on him and that he would have shown his qualities. The same thing can be said about Calhanoglu's situation too. Foreign players need time to adapt to the Serie A". Lucescu talked also about Douglas Costa, who he coached at Shaktar: "I never doubted him. I see that Allegri is playing him on both wings. Now he has become a more complete player".
