Toronto are continuing to look to Italy to reinforce their squad. The Canadian club want to bring Federico Bernardeschi to the MLS. He is out of contract after leaving Juventus.
Toronto has to make room in their squad before signing the player. The reason is the Designated Player Rule in the MLS, as they can only sign 3 players that have a higher salary than the league's salary cap.
Bernardeschi collected 183 appearances and 12 goals in the five seasons at Juventus. He also has 38 appearances with the Azzurri, where he won Euro 2020.
