Walter Mazzarri spoke to the press heading into Torino's match Monday night against Lecce. He also spoke on the news surrounding Nkoulou.

"We are an ample group, we need to always stay well physically, otherwise others will play. Ho said this to each player. With Nkoulou, what happened has happened. There was a path and I told him: 'You train with us, but the hierarchies are now different and on the pitch you'll need to demonstrate it with facts.' There are many players in that role that are doing very well, it's up to me to see how they train."

On Verdi: "He arrived from a different preparation than ours, he himself admitted that he needs time, physically he can improve. It's normal that you need to rediscover certain rhythms. I really like the fact that he uses both his feet, there are truly very few fantasisti like that going around. He can give us a jump in quality in the last 20 meters. I found a humble guy, I put him in an intensive course, at times his head spins. Our organization is particular, everyone must marry our mentality. He must know certain things about the team, he’s awake.

On Lecce: “They still haven’t made any points, but they play well and especially by memory. They’ve paid the duty for Serie A, they’ll come here to play like they have in the past. We need to see the danger, I ask for a strong attempt by the squad."

On his renewal: "I thank the president for the confidence he's shown to me, it's reciprocated. The contracts are a formality according to me, in this moment I only think about Lecce. When the club wants to sit, we'll meet each other. It takes time because we're both working a lot. For people like me, signatures aren't necessary, only a handshake."
