Torino President Urbano Cairo released a long interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. He touched on many topics, specifically regarding the future of Italian football amid the coronavirus crisis.
"When you live in a moment like this, you cannot speak about sport, football, calendars, dis-attaching from what's happening in the country. We must be realistic, understanding what can be done and what should be avoided. We will need to start again, of course, and football must be the motor of this recovery, but first keeping in mind our health, and then the future."
"The season, unfortunately, was ruined, but we must stay attentive and not destroy the next one. The desire to conclude the season cannot push us too far beyond the dates. I maintain that June 30 is a limit or else the play would be wrong. Next season will be a new start in many points of view and we cannot risk ruining it. For this year, shop interests are not allowed."
