The transfer market never stops. Even in March, when the window dedicated to negotiations and transfers is closed, the teams are thinking about how to reinforce themselves ahead of the next season. One of them is Ivan Juric's Torino, on the hunt for an attacker. A well-known goal of the granata management is Werder Bremen striker Niclas Füllkrug, long followed by Torino.
First called up by Germany for the World Cup in Qatar, in which he wore the number 9 shirt, Niclas Füllkrug is the starting striker of Werder Bremen. Born in Hannover in 1993, Niclas Füllkrug grew up in the youth teams of Werder, a club with whom he made his debut in professional football and where he returned after some experience in Germany between Greuther Fürth, Nuremberg and Hannover.
This year he is experiencing his best season in his career and, not surprisingly, in November he earned Flick's call-up for the World Cup. In 26 season appearances, he scored 15 goals and has provided 7 assists between the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal (Germany’s national cup).
The 142 goals scored in official matches show how Füllkrug is a very good and decisive striker. In addition to the numbers, his tonnage allows him to carry out work back to the door and help the development of the offensive maneuver. For 4 times in his career he finished with a double-digit goal tally: in 2015/16 he scored 16 goals with Nuremberg in the 2nd division of the Bundesliga; in 2017/18 he scored 14 goals in the Bundesliga with Hannover; with Werder, on the other hand, he scored 19 in the last season in the second division of the Bundesliga and in the current season he is already at 15 goals.
Torino has been following him for a long time and is very interested. The granata management will study the option of trying to bring the German striker to Italy ahead of next season.
