Tavecchio: ‘Not qualifying to the World Cup would be a tragedy. No goal parade tonight, it’s not our style’

While the Serie A takes the break, the Italian national team is set to face Lichtenstein in a World Cup qualifier. Carlo Tavecchio spoke about the team to Sky Sport:

‘Tonight our objective isn’t to score a ton and have a goal parade. We respect our opponents, plus it wouldn’t be our style. Not too mention it’s the perfect opportunity to experiment with some young players. Promoting the youth is important for us. We have talented young players and the right coach to develop them’.

Italy’s objective is simple: Qualify for the World Cup. ‘Failing to qualify would be a tragedy. Our goal is to finish on top of the group, although second place would be fine as well’.
