Andrea Stramaccioni could be on his way back to Iran. After his previous experience with Esteghlal, the former Inter manager is in talks to become the next coach of Iran's national team. The job has also been offered to Gianni De Blasi and a potential change at the top of the federation could bring an immediate replacement on the bench.

Iran's current manager Skokic's long term status was originally tied to qualifying for the World Cup, but the last two matches against Hong Kong and Cambodia have been postponed. Off the pitch, there could be changes at the top of the Iranian federation which could anticipate Stramaccioni's arrival to before the rescheduled qualifying matches take place.

Stramaccioni would be a welcomed profile for the national team: many of the players are already familiar with him because of his experience af Esteghlal and are pushing for his 3 4 3 formation to be implemented. The contacts are ongoing, the deal is possible: Stramaccioni could return to Iran to lead the national team and could be in charge for the decisive World Cup qualifying matches.
