El Sharaawy did well today and was a determining factor. In certain moments he lacked a little bit of determination in recovering the ball and in contrasts, but tonight he gave us a very important hand. I have other players and must make decisions; sometimes I make a mistake. This year we accomplished important objectives. We are constantly compared to Juventus who are a very strong team. We are attempting to get closer to them in quality, and would like to see how the world is made there (first place). We do not always succeed, but we have worked well.”
On the defense: “The central defenders did their job well. We showed less ruthlessness in the first half, but did improve on this front in the second half. They have one of the best defenses in this league. Maran always creates teams in which it is very difficult to play in between the lines, and this gives even greater prominence to our display today.”
In conclusion, Spalletti spoke about a potential renewal: “In this environment, I feel extremely comfortable. I always say that things change very quickly here.
