The summer transfer market is now only 6 weeks away and clubs are starting to make concrete attempts to sign players. Schalke 04 has in fact made an offer of €15 million plus a percentage of the future resale for Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez, who has a €22.5 million exit clause. But the Swiss player prefers to play in Italy next season, and is willing to make a concession on his annual salary of €4 million after taxes to facilitate a move to a Serie A club.
Inter had some conversations with Rodriguez' entourage, but then focused on Udinese's Samir who has now suffered a significant injury, the nerazzurri could go back after Rodriguez. Napoli has also shown interest for him especially since they aren't likely to extend Ghoulam's contract. Should Inter or Napoli not make further attempts in the short term, Schalke could become a more realistic destination for Rodriguez.
