One hundred million for Belotti: Will anyone spend this much for him? If anyone will, the Torino striker would become the most expensive Italian player of all time. The first Italian to hold that title was Beppe Savoldi, who spoke to TuttoSport claiming the sum that was paid never affected him:
“I never had issues because of how much was paid for me. I can say that after the transfer I felt more of a responsibility towards the fans. No colleague ever dared made a joke about it, I myself said the sum was excessive”. But what about Belotti?:
“I don’t know him personally, but two years ago I expressed my opinions on him, long before he developed at Palermo. He doesn’t excel in one thing because he can do everything, he’s a modern striker. Plus he’s a modest guy. I can tell without knowing him personally”.
But can anyone seriously offer 100 million?: “I think it’s possible. If he continues like this, the offers will come. Torino didn’t make this clause for nothing; they know the young lad can become very strong. Perhaps the team that could offer this much would come from Spain, as it is the most similar to our league”.
A final comment on the derby: “Torino will have to play to their full potential if they want to have a chance against Juventus, who are currently having a bit of a down period. Even if their players may be suffering some fatigue, Juve has a lot of options that can create something out of nowhere. Advice for Belotti? He needs none because I know he’s a great guy. He’s stronger than the price tag on him”.
