Sassuolo are advancing on a return for Martin Erlic. The current Spezia defender had a stay in neroverde from 2015-2017, never playing with the first team squad.
The Croatian defender could now have a second chance. 1998-born Erlic was a protagonist with Spezia, and has gained interest from several clubs.
Sassuolo seem to be in the lead over the competition. The deal could close in the course of the next week.
The sale made by Sassuolo was a free transfer of 50% of Erlic's rights to Spezia, they kept 50% of his future sale. They can now buy him at a 50% discount. Spezia values him at around €7 million, Sassuolo could gain him for €3.5 million. Their sporting director Carnevali seems poised to take advantage of the situation.
