Sassuolo are in meetings with Gremio's CEO (who is in Italy also to try to pry away Hernani who is close to moving to Genoa), they are attempting to close the deal for Matheus Hernique.
The Brazilian midfielder is highly regarded by the neroverdi and was on the list of possible acquisitions for the position along with Liverpool's Marko Grujic, who has moved to Porto in recent days.
Sassuolo is concentrated on the 1997-born midfielder, currently in Brazil's Olympic squad in Tokyo. He played in a duo with Bruno Guimares ahead of the defense in Wednesday's 3-1 win against Saudi Arabia.
At Sassuolo he could be used in a similar role, given the likely departure of Locatelli and the 4-2-3-1 used first by De Zerbi and likely to be inherited by Dionisi.
