Sassuolo enjoyed a 3-0 victory over SPAL in front of their home crowd. Manager Roberto De Zerbi spoke on the match and his star player Domenico Berardi.
"Berardi was the best on the pitch, he was a leader and the driving force. Without the ball, the attackers knew to press in an intelligent way. I am satisfied because the ball came out clean, I am proud of the reaction because we were coming out from a match against Roma where we allowed 4 goals in a half hour and it might've been the worst match since I've been coaching."
"I saw Obiang and Magnanelli play well together, they're complementary to one another. We have a lot of quality in the midfield and making decisions isn't easy. If everyone accepts them, we'll all find satisfaction. We have a very strong team in all the positions."
"It's not true that I prefer the offensive phase without caring for the defensive side. The carnival in attack exists only if the play starts cleanly from behind, otherwise it's all useless. I really like Di Francesco, for me he's an important reference point, then we're attached to Sassuolo and I coached his son. I was unhappy to lose him, not being able to give anyone the certainty of a starting spot made me unwillingly make them leave."
