Today’s meeting in Genova between president Ferrero, sporting director Osti and their manager Marco Giampaolo didn’t give a definitive answer on their partnership. The parties agreed to meet again next week to come up with a final decision. In the meantime Sampdoria have already contacted Stefano Pioli in previous weeks and are also considering Empoli’s Aurelio Andreazzoli who came just one goal short of keeping the Tuscan club in Serie A.
Regarding Giampaolo’s options, he could be a backup option for Roma should Gasperini stay at Atalanta and he could be an alternative for Milan should they part ways with Rino Gattuso since Campos- who could be in charge of Milan’s transfer- appreciated him. Giampaolo could also be in the mix should Bologna and Lazio make a coaching change. In the meantime Sampdoria and Giampaolo have set a meeting for next week.
