Sampdoria defeated SPAL today, thanks to two goals from Fabio Quagliarella. Samp manager Marco Giampaolo spoke to the Sky Sport after the match.
"Our attackers made the difference, the match got dirty after halftime and we knew how to manage the confusion at the end of the game well. We needed to win and we feel that pressure. We're happy to be here. I liked Ronaldo a lot, he's like Saponara in that he sees passes others don't, then it's normal to have a few pauses. I know him well and I know what he can give us. We lost intensity in the end, it would've been a mistake if we tied."
Giampaolo closed with his thoughts on VAR: "We knew that we'd lose more time, you need to be patient to know to wait while the referee is reviewing the action. Before VAR, they were making gross errors, now I'm more calm and very much in favor of the use of this technology."
