With a just few days left in the transfer window, Sampdoria have decided to stick with what they have. Ferrero’s club have decided to drop out of the race for Emanuele Giaccherini, instead they want to focus on Barreto and Verre as they wait for Praet’s return. Giaccherini is now likely heading to Chievo who could close the deal in the coming hours.
Sampdoria also want to keep striker Gianluca Caprari, a player they acquired from Inter last summer. The negotiation with Sassuolo could only restart should Squinzi’s club be willing to offer €12 million for Caprari, whom they view as a possible replacement for Politano who is linked to Napoli.
