After parting company from Di Francesco, Sampdoria are looking for a coach that could help the team bounce back after a terrible start to the season. In this regard, the club met Gennaro Gattuso on Tuesday and it's now waiting for an answer from the former Milan coach.
In the meanwhile, the Blucerchiati are also working on parallel options, as sporting director Osti met with form Albania coach Gianni De Biasi in Milano. De Biasi showed himself open to the possibility of taking the Samp job and he will keep part of the coaching staff that already works at the club, with Bellucci a candidate to be assistant coach and Palombo to remain in the coaching staff.
While also Iachini remains a possibility, Sampdoria could make another attempt today to convice Claudio Ranieri to take the job. The former Leicester and Roma boss has not closed the door to the possibility of succeeding to Di Francesco - just like he did last season with Roma - but he would like to listen to president Ferrero's offer before making any decision.
