After various meetings in the past weeks between Di Francesco and Sampdoria, the former Roma manager overcame his reservations and agreed to a three year contract that was offered to him by president Massimo Ferrero. The parties agreed on the economic side of the deal, and now Di Francesco must terminate his contract with Roma and find an agreement with his former club (at the moment he has a year left on his deal for 3 million euros). This is the final piece to the puzzle before Di Francesco can officially become the new manager of Sampdoria. This passage, however, should not be underestimated if Roma asks for a severance pay or a contribution on the new engagement.
