Arrigo Sacchi complimenting the improvements made by Milan is a testament to the good work they’ve been doing. As it stands, the ‘rossoneri’ are one point off from second placed Roma. What really excites the people of Milan however is the attitude and the new found identity this team has. Sacchi spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport on this new found success:
‘Berlusconi and Galliani are getting praise for their work just as they’re on their way out. After all, their decision making was never that bad. The investments made in the youth system are paying off with players like De Sciglio, Donnarumma, Locatelli and Calabria’.
On Montella: ‘He’s proving himself as a convincing leader. He has talent and believes in improving the play style of a team as a way to help youth develop and find success’.
A final comment on Milan’s Champions League aspirations: ‘With a young team you often have highs and lows, so I don’t know if they’ll be able to come in the top three. But as of today, Milan fans can now cheer for a proper team: the future is bright. It’ll be important to stay on track, especially in the January transfer market session’.
