Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to the press after scoring his 99th goal for Portugal against Luxembourg. He spoke on his physical status and his substitution during the Juventus-Milan match.
"It's always a proud moment when I represent my nation, I would never change my National team, and nationality, with any other. We are, at minimum, top 3 in the world. It's fantastic to have obtained Euro 2020 qualification. We believed in ourselves until the end. We knew we needed to work to win, today we played in a potato field. I am very happy. It'll be my fifth Euro...I really am very happy!"
"In the last three weeks I have been physically limited, no discussion, I don't want to create discussions. Obviously you know that I didn't like to be substituted but in the last three weeks I haven't been at my best form. In my career I've never had bad injuries, generally I play 50/60 matches, but lately I've been having some fatigue. The club knew that I was limited, someone should have said something, especially the manager or myself, but you know that I don't normally speak a lot with the press, as it wasn't necessary to create much discussion. I hoped to help Juventus by playing injured, with pride, also because we had important matches to play. Inter is only two points behind. Nobody likes to be substituted. But I understand it, I wasn't well, like I hadn't been at 100% in these two matches but it was important to be here and qualify for Euro 2020. The important thing, as always, is to win, both with Juventus and Portugal."
