His role has changed as he will no longer be representing the giallorossi on the pitch, but Francesco Totti will still call Roma his home. It was confirmed in an interview with Roma TV that he and the club have worked out an agreement for him to become the new technical director. The Roma-Totti story will continue, although differently, after many years of emotions on the field together.
"I would start with the end of my career. From May 28th, 2017, a historic day for me which impressed me so much. A day that I will hold with me forever. It will be difficult for me to explain the feelings and emotions I felt that day. The days as a player are over, now another important role begins as a director and I hope that I can perform as well as I did as a player on the green grass. I will understand the role that suits me best. Over time I will understand the role that I will fit in best. It will take time to understand what really suits me.
