Roma have submitted a new and improved bid to Manchester United for Chris Smalling. The Giallorossi have made an offer of €15 million plus add-ons for the Englishman, adding add-ons to their previous offer of €15 million in order to persuade the Red Devils to let their centre-back go.
Roma however are considering alternative options to Smalling, should an agreement with United not be reached. The list of names currently being for a potential loan deal considered includes Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld, Sokratis Papastathopoulos of Arsenal and - the current favourite as alternative to Smalling - Chelsea's Antonio Rüdiger.
