The day of the Roman derby is approaching: An extremely important match for Roma that represents a huge challenge for Spalletti’s side. Here is what the Italian coach had to say in his press conference:
“With Empoli we won, and it’s exactly what we needed. Let’s focus on tomorrow by putting the cherry on top of an already delicious cake”.
“We need to do more than what we showed against Lyon. We did great against the French side, but it wasn’t enough to advance to the next round. Tomorrow the key will be to neutralize their counter attacks: It won’t be easy. Inzaghi has a strong side, not too mention their advantage from the first leg. Our strength is that of not falling for the traps and mind games that come with a derby”.
On his future: “I don’t do my job to make money, I do it because I love it. The derby is important, but luckily great things will happen for both Lazio and us after this derby. Too much is being said on my contract: For now we proceed until the end of the season, then we’ll see. I’m sure of the trust the players have in me, and I know they’ll do everything they can too determine my future”.
