After losing 4-2 in the first leg against Lyon, Roma looks to make the comeback tomorrow night at the Olimpic. Luciano Spalletti spoke ahead of the game in his press conference:
“In the first match we made some bad choices. Tomorrow I can assure you we won't just be strolling around the pitch. The dialogue in the locker room is always open. Everyone wants to give constructive input, but tomorrow we need something extra: No mistakes allowed. I don’t exclude playing with four at the back, but what matters is maintaining balance. We’ll need to come out of this game with no regrets. I already spoke to the lads: Roma has 60% chance of advancing. Emerson? If he can’t play I won’t call him up. Pallotta in Rome? I have nothing to tell him, I’ll listen. He has given me an important team. I need to give it my all, nothing more to say”.
Besides Spalletti was Roma’s most prolific striker this season, Edin Dzeko: “Because we’re obliged to score two goals, tomorrows match will be tougher than the first leg. Everyone says Roma is strong, and I agree, but tomorrow we need to prove it. I saw Barcelona-PSG, it goes to show you how anything is possible. With Manchester City I won a league title in the last moments. Have I reached the level of aggressiveness asked by Spalletti? Perhaps I haven’t, but I’ve always been confident in what I can offer. The fans? Roma needs them. In Lyon the stadium was packed, and it’s also because of the fans that Lyon was able to push for more goals”.
