With the last few hours of the transfer window, many backstories come to life. As hours pass, the likelihood of Paredes to remain with Roma increases, as desired by Spalletti. In the meantime, an interesting backstory to the Paredes saga has come to life. Had the Argentine gone to Juventus, Roma would have gone for Baselli from Torino. Roma already had an agreement with Torino for the Italian midfielder: 1 million Euros for the 18 month loan, and an eventual purchase at 11 million Euros. Not too mention Juventus, who would have then given Lemina to Crystal Palace.
