Claudio Ranieri is ready for his second managerial stint in Rome. After arriving just a few days ago, the Italian 67-year-old directed his first training session in Trigoria Friday afternoon; following the session, he spoke to Roma TV to take stock of the current situation at the club.
"This a special but delicate moment - Roma's success will be decided over the next 12 matchdays, in which we will see if we can return to the Champions League.
"What do I ask of the fans? Stay close to the players because in the end, us fans are the ones who really suffer."
"Returning here means everything to me. As a child, I was a fan of Roma, then I was a player at the club, and also a coach. This club is linked to my entire life".
"What do I ask of the players? To be a team. We need to enhance the value of this shirt and have a sense of belonging. We must react as men. If the fans see commitment in the field, they will appreciate the attitude, even if there will then be a referee who will not give a penalty because he does not choose to go and use VAR... The important thing is to give your all".
