Claudio Ranieri's appointment doesn't seem to have had the positive effect that Roma supporters and management hoped for, as the Giallorossi have lost their last two Serie A matches. The Giallorossi, however, have the possibility to bounce back in the mid-week game against Fiorentina at the Olimpico. The coach discussed the conditions of his players and his possible choices for the starting line up in the pre-match press conference: "I haven't had long to work with Cengiz, Pellegrini or Pastore. I need to play the doctor a bit and decide who is able to play from the start and who can come off the bench. Those three are all available, though, to an extent. In goal I need to wait and see about Olsen and Mirante after training tomorrow morning - and not just about those two either. Dzeko played with a knock on Sunday that got worse - I'll need to see how he is too."
The coach discussed also his determination to push his team's out of the downward spiral: "I hope that the recent defeats will spur us on to a reaction tomorrow. I'm spending 25 hours a day thinking about ways to help the team. Fiorentina often look for long balls, so we'll need to make sure we don't give them space to attack.", concluded Ranieri.
