Roma, Monchi: "I like Ziyech but we've got that position covered. Mertens isn't one of our targets"

Between presentations, arrivals and departures of players, Monchi has talked about several topics in his press conference. He's obviously started from the new acquisitions Coric and Bianda: "I'm happy to be able to present Ante and William. It wasn't easy signing them because a lot of teams wanted them. Is the squad fully completed? A team like Roma can't just stop, we'll work until the end of the transfer window. We've signed our third goalkeeper, 21-year Brazilian from Palmeiras. He'll arrive in the next days".

The sporting director has then talked about Florenzi's contract extension: "We're working on it, I'm confident. Roma has made him an important and fair offer but I understand he asks for more. Ultimatum? Never, he's a son of Rome and whatever will his choice be, he'll leave as an important player".

About Roma's next moves: "Alisson? There are no news because we haven't received any offer so it's useless to give any valuation. He'll now go on holidays and if there are any developments when he'll come back, we'll evaluate them. Forsberg? I know him well, I don't need to watch today's game. I like him, but I have to see the difference between a player I like and one I need, otherwise we'd have a 100-player roster. Mertens is not one of Roma's targets. Will Bianda leave on loan? No, he'll work here as he couldn't find a better teacher than Di Francesco. Ziyech? I've always liked him, I can't say no at 100% but we've got that role covered at the moment".
