Roma continues to work on signing Franck Kessie but face competition both in Italy and abroad. In what can be described as Monchi's first opportunity to represent the club, there was a meeting in Milano with Atalanta and an agreement was reached on the basis of €30 million, but the giallorossi have yet to get the player's approval- they've offered €1.2 million after taxes a season while Kessie's camp is asking for €2 millon. New meetings will have to take place to get the deal done.
Kessie also has suitors abroad, especially in the Premier League. Chelsea is one of the teams in the mix, but at the moment they're working on signing Monaco midfielder Tiemoue' Bakayoko, one of the top names on the Blues' shopping list. Roma is however expected to have a week to respond to Kessie's camp's demands. Another Italian team interested in the Ivorian midfielder is Milan, but the rossoneri have yet to have concrete contacts with Atalanta who is giving Roma the priority at this point.
