Roma was drawn against Barcelona in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, and defender Kostas Manolas spoke to Sky Sport 24 about the fixture and Serie A: "We must always work on our mentality, we must never lose our intensity in matches that on the surface could seem easier. Crotone is a fundamental match for us, we are coming off of three wins in a row and we must demonstrate that we can win them all. We will be going there to play a team that is in form, which just convincingly beat Sampdoria, but we are going there to win. We moved past the bad moment and we want to continue like this."

He then moved onto the fixture against Barcelona. He played for their manager, Valverde, in Greece at Olympiakos and began by speaking about his former manager: "I knew Valverde in Greece and he worked well with pressing, mentality and keeping the ball. We must go there and fight, and then we'll see what happens. We are not already defeated, we will go there and see what happens. They play a beautiful football but they work very hard at pressing high. Then when they lose the ball they work very hard to regain it and they do it well. That's why they don't give up many goals but I think they have a weakness on the counterattack. It is 11 against 11, we have respect for Barcelona, but we go there with great hunger and great desire to fight. We will see the results at the end."
