Today's meeting with the intermediary to unlock the Chris Smalling to Roma deal did not go as planned. As a matter of fact, there's pessimism the deal will be reached before Monday's deadline, the negotiation for the Manchester United defender will continue but difficulties emerged to get to the finish line.
