Everything seemed to be set for Emerson Palmieri to finish his remarkable season on a high note after Roma clinched second place and he was set to join the Italian national team for an upcoming friendly. However the left back suffered a serious knee injury in the last match against Genoa, Roma issued a medical report after he completed his surgery:
"On Monday morning Emerson Palmieri underwent arthroscopic surgery to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The surgery went as planned and the defender will now begin a rehabilitation program
