A new name has come to light in Roma’s search for their January purchase: It is that of Oscar Hiljemark, midfielder class of 1992 currently playing for Palermo. Initial contacts between the club and the Swede have already begun. The midfielder has a contract with Palermo expiring in 2019, but is on his way out of the club. Palermo’s sporting director openly admitted “Hiljemark will likely leave”.
After the offer from Dynamo Kyiv was rejected, Roma and Palermo are working to arrange a loan with obligation to buy. The first contact is to understand where everyone stands, and see if Hiljemark is the right player for Spalletti.
As for Defrel, Roma keeps pushing for the Sassuolo striker, and will continue to do so until the end of January. Despite Sassuolo holding their ground, claiming the player is not for sale, Roma will keep on pushing, especially given the desire of the player to leave Sassuolo.
