Gerson's transfer to Lille, which appeared on after the player from Roma flew to France for medicals. But a deal between Gerson and the French club was not found, Gerson effectively blocked the deal for economic reasons. The fee that Roma had agreed to was a total €18m, €5m loan and €13m purchase, basically the same fee they bought him for. That money has now evaporated in front of them.
