The signing of Pau Lopez won't be the last move for Roma in the defence department.
The Giallorossi are in fact looking for a centre-back to replace Kostas Manolas and on Thursday they will hold a meeting with Toby Alderweireld's agents. The Tottenham defender, born in 1989, has a £25 million release clause in his contract but Roma's director Baldini's intention is to try to lower the Spurs demands. Sporting director Petrachi will meet the Belgian international's agents in order to reach an agreement in principle with them, even though the wages demands are expected to be significant. For the centre-back position, Roma keep monitoring Mancini from Atalanta.
On the midfield front, Roma have made progress for Jordan Veretout. The Giallorossi got closer to meeting Fiorentina's asking price by submitting an improved bid that doesn't include any player as part of the deal - a much preferred transfer formula by the Viola.
