Following the international break, Roma are ready to host Sassuolo at the Olimpico. The giallorossi’s manager Paulo Fonseca discussed his team’s current form in the pre match press conference:”I’m confident, I saw the team improve. We had time to work despite the national team players being away for ten days. Luckily, many of them didn’t play and so they are available for Sassuolo”
Fonseca was asked about two of his new additions:”Mkhitaryan is an intelligent player that can be used as a trequartista and offensive winger. Smalling has a minor issue to his adductor, nothing serious, but we won’t risk him”
Fonseca addressed the status of some injured players:”Under was hurt with Turkey so it wasn’t because of how we handled him. Spinazzola’s injury can happen. But we must study the cases of Zappacosta and Perrotti. But we aren’t the only team with injuries piling up: in Europe many teams have to deal with injuries”.
