Despite the game being at risk due to heavy rains expected in Genova, Roma coach Paulo Fonseca analysed his team's condition aheading towards the match against Sampdoria.
"Tomorrow's game will be a difficult one for us, we won just two out of our last ten away games. - Fonseca told during the pre-match press conference - The weather won't be ideal and, in addition to that, Sampdoria will make their debut under a new coach. A coaching change brings positivity, we need to be careful."
The coach then discussed the condition of some of the players that recovered from injuries and are set to return in the squad: "Perotti and Florenzi have been training with the rest of the squad for a week, they will travel with the group. We'll evaluate Dzeko during today's training, but if he is not well, I won't select him for the match. We have an emergency in midfield, only Veretout and Cristante are available. We can play Pastore or Santon in that position, especially Javier [Pastore]'s shape has improved, he is motivated and he trained well".
Finally, Fonseca touched upon Cengiz Under's situation, after the picture he posted on social media hinting to the politiccal situation of his home country Turkey: "I spoke with him, but I won't tell you what we said to each other. Earlier today I read a quote by Valdano who said that football and politics should never sleep in the same bed. Precisely, I agree with him completely".
