Edin Dzeko, striker for AS Roma, is going through one of his best seasons yet. Under Luciano Spalletti, the Bosnian striker has collected 37 goals across all competitions, and 27 in Serie A. Through some questions received with the #ASKDzeko, the striker revealed some interesting backstories:
“I’m happy and proud of my work. When I scored 36 goals with Wolfsburg I was only 22 years old. Usually you’d think you get worst with time, but I’m happy it wasn’t the case for me. It’s not about age, it’s about giving it your all”.
Some comments on his teammates: “Salah? I like playing with Momo, he gives me more assists than anyone. He’s a great player, and it’s always easier when he is on the pitch. Szczesny? He’s a funny guy. So is Manolas, though he speaks too much: More than anyone else in the locker room”.
But who was his idol? “Shevchenko: He was special, I remember always wanting to watch him, study him. When we played him in the UEFA Cup I asked for his shirt, I still have it and is probably the most valuable one I have”.
