Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko arrived at Villa Stuart clinic in Rome this morning to undergo surgery to his fractured zygoma, an injury that he sustained during the game against Cagliari. The Giallorossi's centre-forward will definitely miss the games with his national team and will stay in Rome to recovery from his injury. A possible return on the pitch could happen after the international break, when Roma will face Sampdoria, or - at the latest - against Milan. In both cases, Dzeko will wear a protective face mask.
Another player who picked up an injury during the Cagliari game is midfielder Diawara. The former Napoli player has also undergone surgery today, after he picked up an injury to the meniscus in his left knee. The Guinean will be sidelined for three weeks, then he will complete his recovery and be ready to go back on the pitch after two additional weeks of athletic rehabilitation.
Finally, coach Fonseca hopes to welcome back in the squad some of the other injured players - like Cetin and Under - after the break, while he will have to wait some more time to have Perotti fit and available again.
